Why Invisalign® First?

Invisalign® First gives younger children a Phase I orthodontic option that comes with the same comfort and convenience as Invisalign® and Invisalign® Teens. These aligners can be removed for cleaning, eating, drinking, brushing, or other activities. They allow your orthodontist to plan around your child’s unique needs and adjust room for incoming teeth without having to remove any surrounding teeth. They are custom designed for each patient to address various orthodontic conditions including:

• Dental arch development
• Expansion
• Spacing/crowding
• A-P correction
• Esthetic alignment
• Tooth protrusions or interferences

How does Invisalign® First work?

Dental arch expansion is the process of expanding and contouring the jawline which involves pushing your child’s teeth over time to increase the width of their dental arch. When you bring your child in for a consultation, our Kyle orthodontist will evaluate their smile and determine if they are a good candidate for Invisalign® First. Once everything is confirmed, we will begin by taking pictures, x-rays, and impressions of your child’s teeth. These results will then go to an Invisalign® lab where Invisalign® First aligners are custom built to fit your child. On your next visit, our orthodontist will fit the aligner to your child’s smile. The tray will gradually shift your child’s teeth as needed and the next phases of the treatment will follow.

Why should my child use Invisalign First®?

Invisalign First is a revolutionary orthodontic treatment that your child can use to correct their smile and prevent costly and painful future procedures. It’s a great option because it’s more comfortable than traditional braces, more aesthetic, and can take less time. You can expect to see results within six months, even if you take into account the time it will take for your child’s teeth to be straightened.

Aligners are more comfortable and allow your child to continue living their normal life. They can be removed while they eat, sleep, play sports, or for any other purpose. They can then pop them back in the mouth when they’re done with whatever activity. Invisalign uses SmartTrack material to make its clear aligners. This material makes the trays fit more comfortably and allows your child to straighten their teeth faster and more accurately.
